Beginnings and Introductions

Hello,
My name is Jerroid Hopkins. My nickname is "J". My mom decided this because she thought that if I grew up and became a famous basketball player, they would call me Dr. J.... Funny I know. I was born in Wartzburg Germany. My mom and dad were both in the military, my mother being in the army for seven years. I moved to America when I was three months old to Illinois. By the time I was five I had went through Texas, California and finally Washington. I live with my mother and older sister who is 22 years old. I have three sisters, and I am the second oldest (one sister from my mom, two from my dad).
I am attending Washington State University not mainly for academics but rather the sport of Track and Field. I am a sophomore this year and last year I was ranked 46th in the nation for the 400mh, and 4th in the nation 19 and under at the collegiate and national level. Track hopefully will be apart of my life for a long time. When I am not racing I am focusing on getting a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I am a little behind in math and science, but I plan to stick with it, I feel it is a great challenge.
As far as writing goes, it has been one of my strongest subjects for me throughout my schooling. However I do not favor structured writing. I'd rather be the type that gets to choose what they get to write about rather than boring books and meaningless essays. I believe that my schooling is almost, almost just as valuable as my track and field = )
